Welcome back!

Hey, Nos! It's great to hear from you again. We've been keeping the wiki as up to date as possible through the rather busy update periods and it's good to hear it'll be running in tip-top shape. Our deepest sympathies go out to you and we wish you and your family the very best. --Wilsonator 20:49, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Thanks Wilsonator... I can tell its been kept up. I've been keeping an eye on it from time to time, more so with performance in mind rather than content, but wow... I still have a hard time believing how this site has taken off. Glad to see so many people are getting useful and accurate information out of it, and a large part of that thanks goes to you and the other mods! Also glad the performance is better. I think the biggest thing was learning about the job queue. That seems to have made far more difference than any of the Apache and cache tweaking I've been doing. (And I finally figured out the 4 tilde thing!) Nos 21:06, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
Nos, mate how ya doing? I've been editing this here wiki for a little while, glad we finally meet, I added you on Steam, could you perhaps accept some time? I have a number of ideas for this server, that could increase our standing. Perhaps a discussion? Smashman 22:01, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
Glad to have you aboard. I have to apologize for not accepting... I haven't noticed any requests recently, but I'll check my community page later today. Love to hear your ideas. You can discuss them here (just please create a new section), via Steam, or email (I'll post my email address above in a few minutes). Nos 22:11, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

New TF2 Wiki Content .

Being the bored, inspireationless graphic designer I am, I've been working on some TF2 informational posters, Maybe they would have a place in TF2 wiki somewhere:

http://www.pict.com/view/636384/0/tf2posterdemomanfinaljpeg

http://www.pict.com/view/636391/0/tf2posterpyrofinaljpeg

http://www.pict.com/view/636389/0/tf2posterheavyfinaljpeg

..To name a few. Though some of the information might need changing/editing but I'm up for any work needed.

Thankyou, - Looski..

Very nice... not sure where they'd fit in for sure either. Perhaps talk to Wilsonator, he does a lot more work with the layout of the pages than I ever have. --Nos 14:04, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Good luck

Good luck mate

Recommendation

I'd like to recommend User:Smashman for adminship, or at least a modship. He's done a lot of substantial editing for the wiki, including the painful task of edit-checking. He also has some good ideas about how to improve it, and has a lot more experience with wikicode than I do, which is why I'm happy to stay a mod and recommend he possibly gain some admin rights so he can implement the codes without causing an explosion.--Wilsonator 09:39, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

That's good enough for me. --Nos 14:42, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
Thanks Wils, Thanks Nos. Let's see this wiki RISE! Smashman 21:15, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Saxton Hale

Can you add information about Sniper hat in section of Non-player characters about Saxton Hale? Sniper's new hat is Saxton's hat. SiPlus 13:52, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

Already noted in the trivia section for the Trophy belt. It's not Saxton's hat, it just happens to be the same kind of hat and therefore isn't really notable enough to mention in Saxton Hale's own section.--Wilsonator 18:00, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

I've sold off TF2Wiki

I want to first off say thank you to everyone that's helped make this site such a great resource, and a special thanks to all the editors.

Due to the recent changes in my personal life, I decided to get rid of the site so I can focus on my kids. As such, over the next day or so, you'll notice that some features will temporarily be locked down. This is to facilitate the move, and ensure that no updates are lost. I'll post again once everything is up on the new site. Hopefully there won't be much interruption in service.

Thanks again everyone.

Another update. If you're seeing this message, then you're at the new site. For some people, it may have looked like it was in transit longer than it actually was. This was due to a problem with DNS.

Heres an explanation for those that care. I had lowered the TTL to 5 minutes quite some time before the transfer was to take place. Unfortunateley, the service I was using for secondary DNS changed where they requested DNS transfers from, and failed to send out notifications, or to update their documentation. As such, the TTL was stuck at 3 days for 4 out of the 5 DNS servers. I finally tracked down what was going on and made the change about an hour ago, and all DNS servers are now reporting the correct IP.

So, unfortunately, it may take up to 3 days for everyone to start seeing the new site. Fortunately, the old site will remain as is for longer than that. Its locked down so no one can edit it, since those changes would be lost. The new site is live and looks like its working fine. Post any problems here and I'll try and work them out before I completely hand over the reigns.

--Nos 18:09, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

I've redirected the old site to the new site now. This is just to make sure everyone is getting to the new site and thus the most up to date information. No need to update bookmarks or links or anything. This is temporary and at worst, will take a few days to clear up. --Nos 21:34, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

New wiki owner

Who is the new owner of this wiki? Hirohito 04:00, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

A gentleman by the name of HarriL, according to the change log. SixTwoSixFour 20:23, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

I'm soo sorry!

I hope your children get better real fast! and of course personal life comes first before the TF2 wiki, so I hope you make it through this and hope your kids and wife do too. I just read up about the disease and it must be horrible! Still, I hope you guys can make it through and your kids still have happy lives!--Mishulover69 20:06, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

New owner part 2

Bump! Nos, I know you have other things your busy with at the moment but were struggling to get hold of the new owner to request some changes, have you any idea how we get hold of him? --Aurora 11:59, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

I sent the new owner an email... hopefully he'll check in and help you guys out. Nos 19:35, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

Just Checking In

Stopped in to have a look and the wiki still looks great. Congrats to everyone that is still keeping it up. Last couple of months have been really busy for me, moving and adjusting to my job in a different location (same job though). We've more or less settled in, and my wife and I took a short trip down to Cabo San Lucas and had a great time there.

Hopefully everything is working out well with the new owners. The site seems to be responsive so it must be on a reasonably good host.

All in all life is pretty good considering. We're enjoying our new house and being closer to family. We're planning on doing some fundraising early next year with a charity that funds research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. http://www.jessesjourney.com is the charity, and it was just last week that Jesse Davidson passed away from complications resulting from DMD. Our sympathies go out to the Davidson family. We've been in touch with Jesse's father, John, who I'm sure is having a difficult time of things right now, but we look forward to meeting at some point in the future. My wife and I are planning to head to London, Ontario (Canada) in May to participate in the Walk Across Canada in a Day fundraiser.

In any case, glad to see the wiki is doing well and that at least some of the editors I left behind are still doing an amazing job.

Nos! I'm glad you're doing well, mate. Good to hear from you. Perhaps we could have a discussion on Steam time. It'd be nice to catch up. Smashman 23:19, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
