Template talk:Userbox preview
From TF2 Wiki
"user boxes in the user namespace break the size formating" - I don't understand that line, have you got an example? --Aurora 10:46, 1 December 2007 (CST)
- Go look at the heavylaugh one (bottom page, you'll notice that since the path to the user box is longer than the actual size of the user box, the table stretches to accommodate, thus throwing anything else under the able off (because that one column is now wider than the others). -- WanderingFox 12:01, 1 December 2007 (CST)
- You mean like that? --Aurora 06:44, 5 December 2007 (CST)
- Well I implemented a work around (converted all of the _ to whitespace), but it's hardly a solution.
- Here's what I'm talking about:

- Note how the second box is larger, and stretches the width of the table, rather than wrapping to the next line. Specifying a width didn't seem to fix it :P -- WanderingFox 07:43, 5 December 2007 (CST)
- I see, but the templates do have spaces in rather than underscores... Taking the example above, what would you expect/want to happen and if you would expect it to wrap, at what point? --Aurora 10:07, 5 December 2007 (CST)
- Technically, the user boxes have _ in the name. MediaWiki automatically converts all spaces in page names to underscores when you type them :P Honestly, I don't have a perfect solution. Wrapping by character would be as close to perfect as possible, but even then it cuts off words. Perhaps I'll just add a note on the article to ensure people add them with spaces rather than underscores. -- WanderingFox 11:29, 5 December 2007 (CST)
- Can we knock this one off the list then? --Aurora 08:44, 9 January 2008 (CST)
- I suppose so, it's not really fixed, but it isn't really a problem either >_> -- WanderingFox (Talk • Contribs) 10:33, 9 January 2008 (CST)
