What we need for each
- A video of each node or all together in numerical order for each Developer Commentary Enabled Map
- A transcript of each Commentary node
- Notes of anything that's outdated or no longer valid.--CountDOODOO 07:53, 18 January 2008 (CST)

Video idea
What would be better? A sequential fading shot of each node with helpful landmarks in frame or a sped-up walking tour to each of the nodes in order? If we really need a video, I think it should not include the commentary audio / demonstrations. --Wipnum 16:11, 11 March 2008 (CDT)
- Good question. I'd like the video to show everything that happens when you activate the node and then it'll fade out and go to the next node. Some of the nodes do special things. In one you might see a Medic Ubercharge somebody. In another, you may see the different particle effects. So, we do need a video that shows everything and with some helpful landmarks in the frame. Will you be trying to do this for us Wipnum? If you are, thanks a lot.--CountDOODOO 17:08, 11 March 2008 (CDT)
- Seems like a lot of work, but then again you might fancy doing it to get more machinima experience? I'm not sure about the need for all these videos Count, wouldn't you rather start the commentary mode rather than watching a youtube video of it? I mean I don't want to knock the idea, if we have them great, I'm just saying I'd personally rather watch the commentaries full screen in nice detail than watch a low res YT video of it. Maybe there's something I'm missing, the 360 still has all the commentaries on it right? --Aurora 19:49, 11 March 2008 (CDT)
- Well, as I said, I'm opposed to doing the whole kit and kaboodle. At the very most, "Here's node 1, here's node 2, etc." In this case, I think the article should summarize, not document. I don't know if that makes any sense. The game lets you right-click (secondary attack on 360?) to go to the next node instead of making you walk to it, so a road map idea really isn't necessary; it's not like they hide the nodes from you. I've done the nodes out of order and it's no big deal. The 360 has commentary, but I don't know if it's limited for the TF2 maps like certain nodes are missing... If there are, then I would see cause for a documentary. If not, then I'll at least do a test movie of the nodes on one of the maps and we'll see if it helps the article or if it's unnecessary. CountDOODOO, your thoughts? --Wipnum 20:06, 11 March 2008 (CDT)
- For the most part, I uploaded a lot of those transcripts and I'm on the 360. I might've left some things out so someone will have to double check it. I believe a few others helped on Hydro and Gravel Pit (forgot their names). IDK how it's like for you PC guys but we only have commentary for Hydro, Gravel Pit, and Well. The reason I'd like to have these videos in (even if they're low quality) is to show these commentaries off. We don't need to show them all off. But some of them show things that goes along with the commentary itself. For example, when talking about shading, the game will take control of the camera to show off a Heavy in the different shading ideas they added (believe it's in Well). In another part in Hydro, they talk about why they made boundaries. They want you to look at an open expanse of nothingness and the dialogue goes along with this. So basically, I want Tf2wiki users to view each node off this site via a YouTube video. Pretty much, if you guys are going to do it, just do it like each other video in the other commentaries.--CountDOODOO 05:32, 12 March 2008 (CDT)
- I confirm that PC users have commentary on Hydro, Gravel Pit and Well. I know Well and Gravel Pit have lighting demonstrations. The Well one actually turns off "lighting layers" I think. If I'm gonna do a full one, I'd do that one. --Wipnum 20:29, 12 March 2008 (CDT)
- Err.. the Gravelpit and Well ones have already been done, check the articles, they have videos already. Hydro doesn't though, I'm not sure which other maps have commentaries without checking. --Aurora 20:41, 12 March 2008 (CDT)
- "Err.. the Gravelpit and Well ones have already been done." ... I think going to cry. I really ought to have checked that before jumping headlong into this. Ah well, I must say my video is just a bit sharper than that one and another one I saw on Youtube, but anyway, I'll cheerfully abandon this. I got good practice out of it, though, so some good came of it. [1] --Wipnum 01:55, 15 March 2008 (CDT)
- Hey Wipnum, your videos are don't include all the nodes. It should be like Well and Gravel Pit where you've got them all and its split into 2 parts (or 3 if needed). You should probably go back and fix it up a little. but excellent work so far.--CountDOODOO 13:59, 15 March 2008 (CDT)
- The videos I added to Hydro were not produced by me. I'll do one for Hydro. --Wipnum 14:57, 15 March 2008 (CDT)
- Sorry for the two-month delay. Hydro videos swapped. --Wipnum 18:42, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
