Testing damage out yourself

Here's a little guide for testing damage of weapons on your own. Start a ctf_2fort map, join red team, use the "sv_cheats 1" command to activate cheats straight after starting the map. Use the "bot -team blue -class heavyweapons -name Fatty" command, to spawn a bot, to get to the spawn fast, use the "noclip" command. Type the "net_showevents 2" command, now every time you shoot someone or someone gets damage their health is stated in the console. So when you noclip into the bots spawn area and walk right up to their face and shoot them, make sure to tap the fire button once, damage is measured every 1 ammo, then go to the console and it says their health left, and thus you know how much damage was done. Every time you run of ammo, type "impulse 101" to get all the ammo back, if you want to test out damage at medium range then used the "bot_teleport Fatty -190 -1400 300 0 0 0", this teleports the Fatty bot that you spawned across from the blue spawn area (where medium range is defined as according to the weapon articles) this allows you to test out damage at that range. And for long range type "bot_teleport Fatty 0 -750 100 0 0 0" this teleports the bot to the blue end of the ctf_2fort battlement, then stand yourself at the other end. Also if you want to save time typing, type bind z "type console command here", replaced z with what ever key you wish. Have fun testing The Unbeholden 06:51, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

bot_command limits?

For some reason, when I use bot_command, only a very small number of commands actually seem to work (of what I tested so far, only build, destroy, and voicemenu seem to actually function). For example, using "bot_command bot01 +attack" doesn't make the bot attack, even though I'm pretty sure that's how it should work. I've also tried things like slot2, +duck, +jump, +forward, and +left, and I've tried it with both bot_mimic 0 and bot_mimic 1 (and with various bot names, which must be working because voicemenu always works). Anyone know how to make it so I have full control over the bots with bot_command? G-Mang 01:44, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

are you using the flipout command?? bot mimic should also work, try the examples at the bottom of the bot page, also when they mimic you you must press the fire buttons mouse 1 or 2 hope that helps --mark"d"davis 15:55, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Need help with bot_command!!

plus and minus commands don't work with bot_command!! =((

How can I make a medic-bot to deploy his Ubercharge?

I can't use "bot_mimic" and "forceattack2 1; bot_flipout 1" commands because I have many medics with ready ubercharges and I want medics to deploy ubers one by one but not at the same time!

Please help!

P.S. I wanna stop the Train on cp_well for 4 minutes =)

Bot AI Released

rcbot released a plugin for tf2 that enables bots these bots are actually quiet competant and do wquite weel, but the plugin only supports ctf maps download the plugin, install as it tells you in the .txt and run the plugin "plugin_load ..\bin\hpb_bot2" AT THE MAIN TITLE SCREEN then create the map if you don't load the plugin immediately on the title screen, you'll not be able to use it and have to restart tf2 oh, and under the scoreboard, it'll tell you if it's a bot or not

thought it might want to be added to the article :)

bot_flipoute

bot_flipout doesn't work any more. What else commands can I use to move bots?

Yeah flipout was dropped and some other commands were changed. I made a bunch of updates, see the updated text. Eddycurrents 02:31, 19 December 2009 (UTC)

WAR update == real bots

The WAR Update has implemented AI bots that know how to play on KotH maps. See this thread for more details. --Quietust 18:25, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

That post doesn't tell you how to spawn them though. The static bots are still useful for testing things and experimenting (and achievements, shhh) and turning 23 engineers into a gib cloud with 8 stickybombs is a hoot.
No more using bots for achievements. It was nice while it lasted. Eddycurrents 14:32, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
tf_bot_add adds a bot with functioning AI, while bot still adds static bots that can be ordered around with the console. Fear not, your farming shall not be hindered. --Onyyx Ryoku 22:39, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
Is it fun to add the bot names Valve gave to them here? Or isn't it necessary? Clyde Frog
We should update this page with more info. Smashman 23:09, 25 December 2009 (UTC)\
Done.Eddycurrents 05:31, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Added info on new bots

Fixed up page for both types of bots. Grabbed some info from Burnt_Weenie_Sammich in this post (thanks!): http://topnotchclan.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3920

Someone want to add a new section with all their names?Eddycurrents 05:33, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Done. If anyone finds anymore, please add to the list. I think we might need a separate page, if possible, because the list might grow in the future. --Sgt. McAwesome 03:31, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
