Skyscraper

General Description
Although technically a Control point map, Skyscraper is primarily a jump map with a single CP at the top. Along the way, there are various platforms of different heights that require the user to play either as a Soldier or Demoman in order to use the Rocket jump technique or Sticky jump technique and reach the top of the map. Due to this, actual combat zones are few an varied, with the CP being one of the few areas where you will openly have room to fight someone on the opposing team. The map begins with two tower in which the player is required to jump on to platforms rotating around the tower. The map then consists of various types of platforms and skill jumps. At the top of the initial area, the map goes into a slide with platforms located in the middle leading up toward the CP. Health packs are scarce in the map and are designed at intervals fit for rocket jumpers and this makes demoman jumping more difficult.
Developer
Tatum, and this is a map created shortly after the release of TF2.
Goal
The goal of this type of map is to jump to the control point of the map, using the Rocket jump technique. A secondary goal is to use the demo jumping technique to reach the CP in which a minimum of 6 jumps can be used to reach it. Time records are also very common with experienced jumping players with very experienced players reaching at 30 seconds.

Common Strategies
There are very few "strategies" that come with maps designed in this way. The mere fact that your are limited to characters that can rocket themselves upwards leaves most of the other classes out of the picture. Past abilities with the Medic allowed for most classes to be propelled upward, but a recent patch has removed the ability in the PC version of the game (see the article on Needle boosting).
Apart from the Rocket jump, there is no other way to scale the map by normal means. However, upon reaching the top of the map where the CP lies, it is possible to continue moving down towards the opposing side's spawn point. Though it may take practice, your ability to use your rockets to deter enemies is an important skill that may mean the difference between victory and defeat. If you choose to do such, it's advised that you should stay near one of the platforms where both a med pack and ammo box will be located, in order to ensure that you can continuously fire upon and slow your opposition.
The Soldier is of course the obvious choice for this map, but the Demoman is also capable of reaching the CP if used in the hands of a pro. His ability to drop Sticky bombs is especially useful for deterring opponents attempting to scale the map. By sitting near an ammo box spawn and dropping Sticky bombs on lower platforms, you can ensure a period of safety for your fellow teammates capturing the CP.
