- The hat's name references The Man with No Name, a stock character typically used in western films.
- The title of "A Nameless Man" refers to the Soldier. His given name from the WAR! Update, Jane Doe, is used as a (female) placeholder name in a legal action, case or discussion when someone's true identity is unknown.
- Though the hat is made of cloth, When the Soldier taunts with a shovel It makes a metallic noise.
